Igniting Youth Potential.

Center for Advancing Community has ceased all operations, including staffing activities, as of November 18, 2025.

Over the years, we celebrated meaningful wins. Together, we:

  • developed and launched evidence-based curriculum;

  • invested deeply in creating a financial empowerment program for young people who identify as LGBTQ+ or as being from racially marginalized backgrounds;

  • built a new organizational identity through a professional rebrand;

  • developed a multi-year strategic plan responsive to shifting political and social conditions;

  • strengthened relationships with new partners and funders;

  • built the infrastructure for a youth advisory board; and

  • deepened the experiences of the young people we served.

Despite the tireless, creative, and solutions-focused efforts of our board and staff, the organization could not withstand the growing magnitude of external challenges, including a constricted philanthropic environment, increased political hostility and regulatory scrutiny, and the erosion of partnership infrastructure among foundations and intermediaries that traditionally supported us. Even after cutting expenses drastically, launching fundraising campaigns, building an individual giving program, and pursuing new partnerships and grant opportunities, we were unable to secure the resources required to continue our operations.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of our closure. Advancing more inclusive environments,where young people feel empowered in their identities rather than “othered,” and where intergenerational relationships are strengthened, has been at the heart of our mission. We are proud of what our team accomplished. Above all, we are especially proud that we approached our work with integrity and a deep commitment to honoring young people’s spoken needs.
