FAQ for Youth

Why is CAC closing?
We faced challenges outside of our control, like major funding changes and increased pressure on identity-affirming work. Even though our team worked incredibly hard, the resources needed to keep our programs going weren’t available.

When did operations end?
All programs closed on November 18, 2025.

Does this mean the work stops?
Not even close.
CAC closing doesn’t stop the movement for identity-affirming, youth-centered spaces. That work continues in you, through your leadership, your voice, and the ways you shape your school and community.

What about the tools or resources I received?
Anything we shared with you is yours to keep. We can’t update materials or hold sessions, but you can still use what you’ve learned to make an impact where you are.

Who can I talk to if I have questions?
Reach out to: board@centerforadvancingcommunity.org
We’ll do our best to respond.

How can I keep making a difference?
Here are powerful ways to keep going:

Start conversations at school
Use your insights to make classrooms and clubs more inclusive.

Join or lead identity-affirming groups
Affinity groups, LGBTQ+ youth spaces, student councils, and cultural clubs

Volunteer locally
Find organizations working on issues you care about: racial justice, LGBTQ+ rights, community health, youth leadership, etc..

Express yourself
Your story is powerful. Share your experiences through art, writing, speaking, organizing, mentoring, or social media.

Build community
Show up for others. Support your peers. Encourage younger students. Be the person you needed.

Stay connected
Find trusted adults, mentors, or friends who affirm your identity and encourage your growth.

What should I remember?
That you matter.
Your voice carries power.
Your identity is a source of strength.
The leadership you showed at CAC doesn’t end because the organization closed; you carry that leadership into every space you enter next.

You are the legacy.
